In the Russian delegation confirmed to Interfax the fact of the upcoming meeting, adding that Lavrov on Tuesday as scheduled contacts with Palestinian authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, head of the British foreign Minister, Boris Johnson, Federica Mogherini, foreign Minister of Hungary Peter Siyarto, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic. In addition, the Minister will participate in the lunch on behalf of UN Secretary-General antónio Guterres in honor of heads of delegations to the 72-nd session of the UN General Assembly.
Lavrov and Tillerson met on 18 September in new York. The foreign Ministers discussed cooperation on Syria and the implementation of the Minsk agreements on Ukraine.
Lavrov arrived in new York to participate in the work of the UN General Assembly. Its work programme includes several dozen high-level events. In particular, he will speak from the UN tribune, will take part in the traditional meeting of foreign Ministers in multilateral and regional formats on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
