The sending of the UN mission in Donbass will be discussed at the meeting of the security Council

The subject of the security mission in the Donbass will be discussed at a meeting of the UN Security Council high-level during the Ministerial week of the session of the General Assembly. This was stated in an interview with TASS Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia.

Thus, according to him, Ukraine and the United States expressed unwillingness to work on the text of the draft resolution on the deployment of security mission. However, Kiev may submit an alternative document.

“This project has already been discussed in the framework of the Security Council, it was the reaction from partners, — said the diplomat. — We offered work on the text, but the delegations of Ukraine and the United States after the first debate said they hereinafter are not willing to work, they will have substantive comments, and perhaps the Ukrainians will be a counter-proposal on the issue of deploying a peacekeeping mission in the Donbas.”

“So the discussion of our project at the moment is not happening. Next week it’s just impossible logistics, because the high-level week will provide an opportunity to engage in peer work,” he added.

Nebenzia said that Russia will continue work on the document. “We have it under the cloth is not laid, we will continue to promote, when suitable conditions occur”, — he said.

5 Sep Russia by order of President Vladimir Putin has made to the UN Security Council resolution on peacekeepers. The proposal suggests placing the mission on the demarcation line between the militias of the unrecognized republics and Armed forces of Ukraine. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that the deployment of the peacekeeping mission in the Donbass must be consistent with the self-proclaimed militia Donetsk and Lugansk national republics. In response, the Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the “blue helmets” UN “nowhere and never are located without the consent of the parties.”
