The Governor of Moscow region Andrey Vorobyev thanked the organizers and participants of the annual environmental campaign “Our forest. Plant your tree”. It is reported RIAMA Monday, September 18.
“I would like to draw attention to the action which became traditional, kind, important in our suburbs. I want to thank all the residents, all guests, everyone who took part in this very important and noble effort,” he said.
The head of the region emphasized that for the third consecutive year in the suburbs planted forest more than made sanitary felling. According to him, the action by planting trees to compensate for the damage caused to forests by the bark beetle. Sparrows expressed confidence that the people of the region in the future would be willing to participate in the promotion.
Regional campaign “Our forest. Plant your tree” was held in Moscow on Saturday, 16 September.
In it have taken part more than 150 thousand people, they planted over 1.7 million trees on an area of over 1 thousand hectares, the report States. Vorobyov gave a start to environmental action and landed a few seedlings of pine and oak.
Just this year in the Moscow region have been planted over 1.7 million trees over a total area of over 700 hectares.
