They complained of nausea, dizziness, partial hearing loss and other ailments. The Cuban foreign Ministry repeatedly denied the involvement of the authorities to these incidents. Now us diplomats are astonished that Raul Castro, at first, decided to personally explain to the Ambassador the United States, and second, admitted that he is “very concerned” everything happening.
Formerly the Havana allowed the FBI to inspect areas in which work representatives of the diplomatic mission, which was also an unprecedented event in the history of relations between the two countries.
Presumably, in the spring of this year, FBI agents inspected the Embassy offices and rooms at the Capri hotel, where a frequent stop for American diplomatic representatives. A similar test was conducted and the Federal police of Canada: diplomats from the country also complained of partial hearing loss and a nervous breakdown. However, all these measures yielded nothing.
For the first time American diplomats in Cuba have complained of health problems back in August of last year. However, no response from the Department of state then followed. Two countries in the last months of the presidential term of Barack Obama were active in the negotiation of important treaties in the field of immigration and drug control. But after coming to the White house Donald trump US policy towards Cuba is beginning to tighten. February 17, Washington demanded from Havana to explain what is happening in the U.S. Embassy. In response to what the American media called “acoustic aggression”, the decree of the President of the trump of the country were expelled two Cuban diplomat, the state Department suspected of involvement in the security services.
“Acoustic attack” was temporarily stopped, but after some time resumed. August 21 was the was a new incident, which injured 21 people (previously reported 16 diplomats).
Most of them were sent for examination to the medical center at the University of Miami, however, the results of the tests, the US government has not released, citing their privacy. According surgeon Michael Howe from Georgetown University Washington, DC, “it almost certainly is ultrasound waves that are imperceptible to the human ear”.
In recent days, these incidents began to take a mystical form, like they are taken from horror movies.
As the AP reports, one of the American diplomats staying at the hotel Capri, in the middle of the night was deafened by the terrible sound. He got out of bed, walked a few feet, and the sound stopped. But he had to go to bed, how intolerable to the ear sound is back.
