The foreign Ministers of Russia and the USA Sergey Lavrov and Rex Tillerson discussed cooperation on Syria and the implementation of the Minsk agreements on Ukraine. As reported by RIA Novosti, told reporters the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
“In new York hosted a meeting of Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of state Tillerson. The parties discussed cooperation on the Syrian crisis and other aspects of the situation in the middle East and North Africa, as well as the implementation of the Minsk agreements”, — she noted.
Lavrov arrived in new York to participate in the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly. Its work program for the coming week includes several dozen high-level events. In particular, he will speak from the UN tribune, will take part in the traditional meeting of foreign Ministers in multilateral and regional formats on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
In addition, the foreign Minister will hold bilateral talks, including with the UN Secretary-General antónio Guterres and US Secretary of state Rex Tillerson.
