U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has prepared a bill on expenditures of the state Department on international activities in the year 2018, proposing to allocate at “countering Russian influence and aggression,” $20 million more than previously planned.
“At least $120 million should be available for assistance to counter Russian influence and aggression in Europe and Eurasia by the Fund to counter Russian influence,” explained Graham in the document.
It is noted that $35 million can be directed to “the assistance to Europe, Eurasia and Central Asia”, $20 million — for law enforcement and counter-narcotics.
Most of the funds from the Fund to counter Russia $65 million — in the case of the bill will go to “the program of financing of foreign armed forces.”
“The funds allocated in accordance with the law and available to assist States parties of the Eastern partnership, should be available for the further implementation of the Association agreements and trade agreements with the European Union and protection against external economic and political pressure from the Russian Federation”, — stated in the bill.
Earlier in mass media appeared information that the U.S. along with its NATO allies create in Serbia an information centre for the fight against “Russian influence” in the region.
