According to the author of the document, many of the Russian airlines sell their flights more tickets than seats on Board. This so-called overbooking, or rebooking.
“The airline has estimated that approximately 7-10 percent of passengers, as a rule, are late or refuse to fly — said Ananskikh. — That carriers and embark on a trick: sell additional tickets to earn more money”.
Currently, the overbooking legalized in several countries. They are the mechanisms by which a passenger waiting for departure on the next flight may be obtained, for example, monetary compensation.
At the same time, Russian legislation does not stipulate what to do with purchased a ticket by the passenger, who did not have enough space in the cabin.
