In Israel, the native of the Ukraine beat the woman, taking her for a Russian woman
MOSCOW, 17 Sep — RIA Novosti. In the Israeli city of Petah Tikva 29-year-old native of the Ukraine attacked a woman that I assumed was Russian, according to the portal Ynet.
The incident occurred on 11 September. 40-year-old woman was walking down the street when a strange man called out to her in Ukrainian. She asked him in Russian, but the man swore at her, and then lashed out with his fists and began to beat. “I fell to the ground, but he continued to beat me,” said the woman.
Arriving police arrested the assailant, who was a native of the Ukraine, named Andrey Dovzhenko. His victim, a citizen of Ukraine, was taken to hospital.
In court, the detainee claimed that he took the victim for a certain Russian, who allegedly have long threatened to kill him. On Saturday the court arrested Dovzhenko prior to the completion of legal procedures, Ynet writes.
