A representative of Nellis air force base in Nevada (USA) has refused to clarify the situation with the plane crash, presumably, of the Soviet production. On Saturday, September 16, RIA Novosti reported.
“All the details concerning the incident on 5 September incident classified”, — said the representative of the press service of the air base in response to a question of journalists of the Agency, adding that information about the incident be reported to the public will not.
The incident occurred about 160 kilometers North-West of Nellis air force base which is near Las Vegas. In the same direction is a remote unit of the Edwards air force base better known as Area 51. On this basis, designed and tested new aircraft type.
Earlier, the press service of the airbase in its release announced the incident, and that accident killed Lieutenant Colonel Eric Schultz.
The pilot, according to sources of the resource to Aviation Week, commanded a squadron, which is engaged in the testing of foreign technology. At the disposal of this division there are a number of planes of the Soviet manufacture, including fighter-interceptor MiG-29 and a few cars built by the company “Sukhoi” su-27.
