Over the past week, the jets of Air and space forces (VKS) Russia five times rose to intercept foreign aircraft reconnaissance near the border. This was reported in the Friday issue of the newspaper “Red star” of the Ministry of defence of the country, reports RIA Novosti.
During this period, aerial reconnaissance along the Russian border were 37 aircraft. Most of them were discovered in the Western strategic direction 25, one in the southwest, eight in the Arctic and three to the East.
While violations of Russian airspace was not.
As noted, the previous week was made nine sorties. On 1 September it was reported about eight interception of air targets near Russia’s borders during the week, only then it was recorded 24 reconnaissance flight.
