The former Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili with the help of supporters passed through the checkpoint “shehyni” on the border of Poland and Ukraine and has stated that he goes to Lviv. It is reported by TV channel NewsOne.
As noted, “after a long walk from the checkpoint, surrounded by his supporters, singing the national anthem and shouted Patriotic slogans,” he got into the car and moved towards the city.
TV channel, Saakashvili said that the guards provoked his supporters, who in response to their actions broke through the border and came for him. “The police behaved in a civilized manner, not touching people. The police and the people”, — he said.
Saakashvili also said that “the people have shown that it is not cattle”.
Earlier it was reported that at the checkpoint “shehyni” on the border of Ukraine with Poland, clashes broke out between supporters of Mikhail Saakashvili and Ukrainian security forces. The associates of the former Governor of the Odessa region managed to break through the cordon at the checkpoint. Since then, Saakashvili on foot surrounded by his supporters held on the territory of Ukraine.
