The first Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Dmitry Novikov in an interview with RT commented on the statement by state Department spokesman Heather Nauert that U.S. relations with Russia do not want to continue the policy of “an eye for an eye.” In his view, words must be followed by real action.
“Any war ever ends, including war and diplomatic. The statement that followed from the bowels of the state Department, means that there is an understanding that sooner or later you must stop the war on the diplomatic front. Now it’s only words. The words must be followed by actions. Let’s hope so,” he said.
Earlier, state Department spokesman Heather Nauert said that the U.S. hopes to improve relations with Russia and do not want to continue the policy of “an eye for an eye”.
