Russian permanent representative in Geneva called fake report of the UN Commission on Syria

GENEVA, September 8 — RIA Novosti, Elizabeth Isakov. The report of the independent Commission to investigate human rights violations in Syria in regards of the accusations of Russia and Damascus, is an example of poorly fabricated, politically biased fake, told reporters Russia’s permanent representative at the Geneva office of the UN Alexey Borodavkin.

According to the Ambassador, such accusations Moscow is not worth paying attention to.

“Some time ago to trade Russophobic lie became fashionable in political and diplomatic circles. But the situation is gradually changing. Even where such concoctions are still in demand, the political price for them is falling rapidly,” said Borodavkin.

On Wednesday, the independent Commission of inquiry on Syria established by the UN Council on human rights, presented the 14th report on human rights violations in Syria. In the document, in particular, contains statements that Russia allegedly continues to bomb hospitals in Syria on the territories controlled by the armed opposition, as well as direct accusations against Damascus to use chemical weapons in April in Khan Sheyhun.

Members of the Commission do not have direct access to Syria and claim that they came to their conclusions on the basis of evidence, and exploring satellite images and photos of the shells, made after the attack in Khan Sheyhun.
