Rospotrebnadzor warned the Russians about the cases of anthrax in Italy
MOSCOW, September 8 — RIA Novosti. Experts of Rospotrebnadzora has paid attention of Russian tourists to the cases of anthrax in Italy and asked to take this into account when planning trips, reported on the Agency’s website.
The Agency reports with reference to the Institute of experimental zooprofilattico of Lazio and Tuscany (IZSLT, Italy) that veterinary Inspectorate laboratory in Rome confirmed the presence of anthrax at the four dead cows.

It is noted that this region is endemic for anthrax, but the cases of disease in cattle, rather, phenomenon is singular, due to the ongoing since 1950, the preventive vaccination. Experts believe that the emergence of outbreaks could contribute to the unusually long drought.
“Earlier (August 26, 2017) the Ministry of agriculture of Italy informed the world organization for the protection of animals (WSPA) about the nine deaths of cattle against anthrax in the regions of the cities of Latium, Rome and the Rocco di Papa. IZSLT national laboratory (Foggia) officially confirmed this diagnosis. All the dead animals were destroyed, authorities continued carrying out actions”, — stated in the message.
The Agency asked travelers to consider this information when planning trips.
