Kislyak spoke about the options of response to the actions of the US departmenet
MOSCOW, 7 sen — news. Russia has many options to respond to the US actions against Russian departmenet, ex-Russia’s Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak.
“The Minister (for foreign Affairs), Sergey Lavrov, was absolutely right in saying that we need to carefully consider the situation. Sure we safely define your steps and will take some retaliatory action, the more options for that many,” said Kislyak, in an interview with the newspaper “Izvestia”.
He noted that “every action has a practical dimension, in particular, the closure of the Consulate General in San Francisco.”
“Now hundreds of thousands of Russian citizens who are fated to live and work on the West coast, you lose the opportunity to stay in contact with representatives of the Russian state… Our people, our citizens, who sometimes fall into a difficult situation, tend to rely on the assistance of the Embassy in ensuring their rights. What the Americans are doing now is not so much a blow to our diplomatic institutions, as the interests of Russian citizens,” — said Kislyak.
