Trump agreed to temporarily raise the debt ceiling
WASHINGTON St 6 — RIA Novosti. The President of the United States Donald trump agree on a temporary increase in the debt ceiling of the country until 15 December, provided that at the same time will be adopted a package of Federal financial assistance to the victims of hurricane “Harvey”.
On Wednesday, trump met with representatives of Congress to discuss the issue of public debt and assistance to victims. Following the meeting, the leaders of the Democrats in the Senate and house of representatives Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi have issued a statement in which he said that “the President and congressional leaders have agreed to approve assistance to (affected) “Harvey”, to raise the debt ceiling and to resolve these issues before December 15″.
The statement also notes that the President and Congress want to “avoid a default in December and will work together on many issues facing us.”
On Wednesday, the house of representatives of the United States Congress approved the request of the White house about the allocation of 7.85 billion dollars on liquidation of consequences of hurricane.
