Putin held a meeting with the Prime Minister of India in the framework of BRICS summit

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin at a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra modi said that he wants to discuss the current issues of the bilateral agenda and long-term objectives and noted the results of cooperation achieved at the end of the St. Petersburg international economic forum.

Putin noted that relations between the two countries have deep historical roots, are strategic.

“I remember your visit to Russia more recently, in the framework of SPIEF. We then worked well. I must say that the results, including our work, of course, positive. We maintain ongoing relationships at the level of political departments, foreign governments, are actively developing military-technical cooperation,” Putin said.

He also drew attention to the positive dynamics of trade turnover. “This year in the first half there has been a significant growth of 21.9%. Of course, you need to maintain a positive trend,” — said Putin.

According to him, representatives of Russia are waiting for a delegation from India on the forum.

“I want to thank for the continued participation of India in the East economic forum at a high level. Will wait for your representatives, your delegation headed by Minister of foreign Affairs a few days in Vladivostok,” — said the Russian President. “I am glad to discuss all the current issues and future challenges” , — said Putin.

In turn, modi thanked Putin for the meeting. “Of course we meet, we have a good frequent meetings and exchange of visits, deeply discussing different issues.
