Students from Russia who are studying or want to study in American universities, will receive priority in obtaining a visa to the United States, said the head of the consular section of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow Lawrence Toby. According to the diplomat, the decision was accepted in connection with the fact that students need to get to the beginning of the school year, so the Embassy will do their paperwork faster than the treatment of other Russian citizens.
Earlier, the us Embassy in Russia has suspended the issuance of nonimmigrant visas on the territory of our country. This measure was adopted from 23 August to first of September. From early autumn to obtain a visa will be possible only in Moscow, and, as it became known on August 31, the U.S. Embassy will not be able to conduct interviews with applicants for a nonimmigrant visa from the regions for technical reasons.
