Moscow hopes for a normalization of relations with Washington after the start of administration elected President of the USA of Donald trump. This was reported by his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, speaking at the “Primako readings” in Moscow, reports on Wednesday, November 30, the correspondent “Tapes.ru”.
According to Putin, during a recent phone conversation with trump they considered the state of bilateral relations as unsatisfactory and noted that it “definitely need to rectify”.
“As I said, our country is ready to take its part,” stressed the Russian President.
He pointed out that bilateral relations in recent years “significantly degraded”. However, Putin said, “it’s not our fault”.
The head of the Russian state emphasized that the state of relations between Moscow and Washington it was important “not only for the peoples of both countries, but also to ensure international stability and security.”
Trump confirmed that on 14 November he had a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, but did not disclose details of the conversation. As noted in the Kremlin, the two leaders agreed that Russian-American relations are in “extremely poor condition” and favoured active collaboration in their normalization.
