Cura found out about the announcement of a persona non grata when you try to enter Latvia

Andrei Kuraev

Protodeacon Andrey Karev said that he is banned entry to Latvia. He wrote about this in his blog in LiveJournal.

“Sitting in Riga airport. Border guards say that the Latvian security service has long been banned I check the ban has been extended in 2015,” wrote Kuraev. According to him, earlier he was declared persona non grata in Azerbaijan after visiting Nagorno-Karabakh.

He said that once was in Latvia. It happened 10 years ago. “From that trip I still have stained glass in the window — he presented the speaker of the Latvian Parliament, a Lutheran pastor. This I mean that there were no scandals, although at the time the lecture was in the House of Moscow,” wrote the archdeacon.

He also added that he believes one possible reason for the ban on entry of critical statements about the former Latvian President Andris Berzins, who sent a letter to Patriarch Kirill with a request to refrain from trips to Latvia.
