Moscow. 21 Nov. INTERFAX.RU — the Moscow city court upheld the extension until beginning of February 2017, the arrest of the owner of the group of companies “Renova” Yevhen Olkhovyk and heads of the energy “T Plus” Boris wainzinher in the case of multimillion-dollar bribes to the former leadership of the Republic of Komi.

“The decision of the Basmanny court to leave without change, the appeal complaint of lawyers without satisfaction”, — announced the decision of the judge.

In court the lawyers of the defendants asked to cancel the decision on prolongation of arrest and elect their clients more lenient preventive measure, such as house arrest. “We would like the court’s decision to hear the answer to why senior officials, who received multimillion-dollar bribes, sent under house arrest, and our clients who are entrepreneurs and who defends the Supreme court, in custody,” said wainzinher, the lawyer Konstantin Rivkin.

Meanwhile, the Prosecutor and the investigator strongly objected to change of a measure of restraint. “The grounds on which elected the measure of restraint has not changed. The seriousness of the charges has not changed. The crime involved a group of takers and givers, their actions, the investigators have yet to evaluate,” said the investigator.

According to him, money was transferred in cash and by Bank transfer.

As reported, Moscow’s Basmanny court on 2 November sanctioned the extension of the arrest of top managers until 5 February, refusing to change him a measure of restraint on not connected with detention.

Case “T Plus”

Co-owner of group of companies “Renova” olkhovyk, head of the energy holding “T Plus” Vainzikher and former head of “VimpelCom” Mikhail Slobodin, who were leaders of JSC “Integrated energy systems” (KES) between 2007 and 2014, became the defendants in the criminal case on bribery in the Komi Republic. In early September, the investigation Committee reported that they are suspected in bribery in especially large size (part 5 of article 291 of the criminal code).

According to the investigation, during 2007-2014 years, the defendants and other unidentified persons, acting in the interests of IES and affiliated organizations, passed to the senior officials of the Republic of Komi (currently held by the so-called “case Gayzer” — the ex-head of the Komi Republic) as bribe money, and other property for the establishment of favorable tariffs for electricity and heat, as well as other benefits and creation of comfortable conditions for business in the territory of the Komi Republic.

The consequence considers that money transferred to the accounts of companies listed taker. The total amount listed as cash rewards funds exceeded 800 million rubles.

Olkhovyk and Vajnziher was transferred to Syktyvkar, where the court September 7, arrested them for two months. Later they returned to Moscow, since the case was transferred for investigation to the Central office of the TFR. Slobodin declared in the international search and arrested in absentia on charges of bribery in especially large size.

Group “T Plus” (up to June 2015 “IES holding”) is a private company working in the field of electricity and heat, which combined power generation assets of “Renova”, as well as gas and utility assets. In a group of 59 power plants, more than 400 boiler plants and almost 15 thousand km of heat networks.
