At the airport the Russian air group in Hamim will create new infrastructure in connection with his transfer to Russia in perpetuity; it is about modernization of the runway and aerodrome equipment, as well as on the improvement of radio and starting positions of forces and means of air defense, told RIA Novosti Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Viktor Ozerov.
“We came to Syria for the long haul. Therefore, the improvement of infrastructure on the airfield and in the area of its deployment in General – the task to be solved in the foreseeable future,” said the Senator, adding that speech can go about two and a half to three years.
