The President of Russia Vladimir Putin commented on the victory in the presidential election in the United States, the Republican nominee Donald trump. As reported RIA Novosti, he said at a press conference on the results of the APEC summit in Peru.
The head of state recalled that between rhetoric and real politics there is a big difference. He also said that the question of specific meeting with trump has not been discussed.
Earlier, Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed the opinion that between Putin and trump has a political understanding. “They definitely present political mood [to make contact],” said the Minister.
November 14 between Putin and trump had a telephone conversation. According to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, he lasted about half an hour. The parties expressed their willingness to cooperate and agreed to unite efforts in the fight against international terrorism and extremism.
The United States presidential election held on 8 November. Republican candidate Donald trump has won victory, having typed, according to The New York Times, 290 electoral votes, while the required minimum is 270. His rival for the Democratic nomination, Hillary Clinton has received 232 votes.
The voting of electors who formally elect the President, December 19th. The inauguration of President-elect is scheduled for January 20.
