Erdogan is disappointed in US

Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan is disappointed in the United States. In this the President admitted in an interview to CBS, which was published on Friday, November 18.

“Let me speak very frankly, because of my straightforwardness known. I would be lying if he said he wasn’t disappointed (in the US). Because I was disappointed”, he said.

Erdogan expressed the view that us policy in Syria has created a real threat to security on the southern border of Turkey. This prevents him to defend the state. This is the fault of Washington, the President said, his country was nearly three million refugees.

“We solved these problems and discussed them with President Obama and Vice President Biden. They could not show their best side and to take seriously these tasks. It’s very frustrating,” added Erdogan.

He also criticized the United States for granting asylum to Islamic preacher Fethullah Gulen. Ankara considers the organizer of the coup on 15 July and accused of attempting to overthrow the government and assassinate the President.
