“In Washington we are starting contacts with people who are likely to work with the new President. I hope that the outgoing and incoming U.S. administration understands that without Russia, the crisis in Syria can not be solved”, — said the Deputy Minister.

Moscow, Bogdanov added, supports any steps aimed at the resumption of inter-Syrian negotiations. “We welcome any measures that will contribute to the preparation of inclusive inter-Syrian dialogue under the auspices of the UN,” he said. The diplomat stressed that to decide the fate of Syria should the citizens of this country.

The fight against terrorism is one of the main points of the electoral program of the trump. The Republican has repeatedly criticized the middle East policy of the current President of the United States, which, in his opinion, led to a surge of radical Islamism and terrorism in the region.
