Chinese official detained after the death of one of his critics

Chinese police have detained an influential regional official surnamed Yu from the County, Uachi (Sichuan province), after one of the local towns was found the body of his criticism. About it reports The South China Morning Post.

As specifies the edition, the body of 68-year-old Ian Tanji found on the streets of the village Bang. He and three of his neighbor in the village on 20 August went to the State Bureau of letters and calls — the government authority responsible for the petitions of the population to complain about the actions of Yu.

According to residents of the Bang, the authorities have stolen money, which the local population was to receive as compensation for use of their land for the construction of real estate.

When they arrived at the office, they were approached by unknown and stated that it would help with housing in Beijing. The Complainants went to them in the car, where he was immediately handcuffed. During the 81 hour they were transported back to the County Uechi and beaten, without giving any food or water.

When the van arrived to the destination, Yang Tianji was dead. The three surviving prisoners were allowed to go free. They could not explain to investigators why died their neighbor.
