The publication of “Harry Potter” is misspelled sold for a record 54 thousand dollars

In London at Bonhams auction a rare edition of the novel “Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone” British writer JK Rowling has sold for 54 thousand dollars, reports the Mirror.

The book became the most expensive copy sold by the series.

On the back cover of the novel there’s a typo: the word “philosophical” omitted the letter “o”. In addition, printing a unique code printed on this edition of “Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone”, is a series of numbers from 10 to 1, which is a rarity.

In 2007, a rare first edition of “Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone” was sold at auction by Christie’s for 40.3 thousand dollars.

Then for another rarity — the author’s copy of “philosopher’s stone” is misspelled in the names of the writer — the buyer paid over 4 thousand dollars.

The Harry Potter series of books about the young wizard Harry Potter. The total circulation amounted to more than 500 million copies. Novels Rowling have been translated into 67 languages and filmed.
