The government and the Venezuelan opposition agreed on the way out of the crisis

According to the Vatican representative Monsignor Claudio Maria Celli, the parties agreed to work together to combat economic sabotage and work on providing the population with food and medicines.

Representatives of the Venezuelan government and controlling the country’s Parliament of the democratic unity Bloc (BDE) has agreed to follow the road map to resolve the political and socio-economic crisis in the country. The corresponding agreement was reached at the end of the next round of talks between political opponents.

According to the Vatican representative Monsignor Claudio Maria Celli, who is involved in the negotiations as the international mediator, the parties agreed to coexist peacefully, to deal with the economic sabotage and work on providing the population with food and medicines. The start of negotiations between the authorities and the opposition was expected on October 30 at the meeting of the governmental delegation headed by Maduro and representatives of the BDE.

The parties identified four areas for dialogue. The first involves the issues of “peace, respect of law and national sovereignty”, the second theme of “truth, justice, human rights, reparation for victims and reconciliation”, third — “socio-economic aspects”, the fourth “creating an atmosphere of trust and schedule of voting procedures”. Maduro noted that special attention should be paid to economic issues.

To the aggravation of the political crisis in Venezuela caused the decision of the National electoral Council to postpone indefinitely the organization of the second stage of preparation for the referendum on early termination of powers of Maduro. It was to be held from 26 to 28 October, and political opponents of the head of state had to collect 4 million signatures.

After this, the national Assembly voted the opening of the trial against Maduro, and that the parliamentary Commission began to examine possible criminal and political responsibility, as well as the resignation of the President.
