Matvienko asked the journalists to find Iranian girl

The speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko has asked Iranian journalists to find the girl, who met her at the airport during a trip to Tehran 12 years ago. This was the head of the press service of the Federation Council Natalia Fomenko reported on Sunday, November 13, RIA Novosti.

Matvienko has addressed to journalists with a similar request during the interview of the radio and television of Iran. According to Fomenko, the speaker, who again embarks on an official visit to the Republic, it would be interesting to know what happened to girls in national costume.

“Unfortunately, I don’t even know the girl’s name. I hope she turned out all right. If this girl is, rather, a girl will come to our country, I will be very happy to see her. Nothing binds our peoples are so firmly as friendship,” — said Matvienko. She visited Iran in 2004, as Governor of St. Petersburg.

In early November, during his visit to Tokyo by the speaker of the Federation Council admitted that she likes Japanese food and the Japanese attitude towards work.

“I am very fond of Japanese cuisine: sushi, sashimi, and shabu-shabu. It is a very healthy cuisine,” said politician. She said that during the visit, even tried the local delicacy — fugu fish (Blowfish), a dish of which improper preparation can be deadly.

Matvienko Governor of Saint-Petersburg from September 2003 to August 2011. In September 2011 he became Chairman of the Federation Council.
