Russian military in conducting intelligence operations in Aleppo, Syria found evidence that rebels used chemical weapons. This was stated by the official representative of the defense Ministry major-General Igor Konashenkov.
“Officers of the Scientific center of troops of radiation, chemical and biological protection (NBC) of the armed forces during a reconnaissance in the area of “1070” (southwest of Aleppo) found evidence of terrorist use of chemical weapons against civilians and Syrian soldiers,” – said the representative of the defense Ministry.
According to him, most likely, the ammunition of the militants were filled with toxic substances: chlorine and white phosphorus. These data showed the rapid analysis conducted in the mobile laboratory. On a place of detection of traces of chemical weapons were taken soil samples and removed the fragments from the exploding ammunition for examination.
