Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi was the first head of state personally congratulated the elected President of the United States Republican Donald trump. On Wednesday, November 9, reads the official statement of the administration of the Egyptian leader, Reuters reports.
“Elected President of the United States Donald trump expressed his gratitude to the President, noting that it was the first international call of congratulations, which he received,” — said in a communique.
According to the statement, trump also expressed hope for a quick meeting with al-Sisi.
The United States presidential election held on 8 November. The victory went to Donald Trump. According to RealClearPolitics, he scored 279 electoral votes, while the required minimum of 270 votes. In his speech on the occasion of the election, the politician promised to seek common ground, not hostility with partners in the world.
