Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday will take part in the final forum active citizens “Community.”
The final “Community” forum kicks off in Moscow on 3 November and will last two days. The event was organized by the Public chamber of the Russian Federation. Participants of the event will be more than 3.5 thousand people, among whom will be active citizens of the Russian Federation, and representatives of socially-oriented NGOs. During the event, experts in several fields will discuss the most important issues associated with the non-profit sector.
“3 November Vladimir Putin will speak at the forum active citizens “Community,” — said the press service of the President of the Russian Federation.
The participation of the head of state in the forum has already become traditional: in the past year, Vladimir Putin also spoke at the final event of “Community”.
Forum active citizens “Community” — an open platform for the interaction between society, business and government. It was held in eight Federal districts of the Russian Federation from March until September 2016. Participants were about 6 thousand active citizens, 400 experts from more than 300 volunteers. The forum was presented 80 of the best projects from across the country.
The participants discussed the development of the nonprofit sector in the regions and support the most effective practices of civic engagement. Each had the opportunity to make suggestions to the Concept of promotion and development of NGOs.
At the final event which will be visited by the President of the Russian Federation, in addition to activists and representatives of NGOs were also invited the heads of Federal agencies and authorized under the RF President on the rights of the child and human rights, representatives of the HRC and others.
The Secretary of the Public chamber of Russia Alexander Brechalov told RIA Novosti that the main purpose of the forum is that active citizens worked together. Social activist stressed that the name of the forum “Community” originates in the word “together”.
“The purpose of all our activities to civil society activists learned to do everything together. Thus, we continue to strengthen the belief that each of us depends on much more than we think. Examples here can cause a lot. Help lonely grandparents in preparation for the heating season, as do the activists of the project “grant wood” in the Tver region, to projects for reintegration of troubled teenagers and training for their farming business what in the “School of farmers” Vyacheslav Gorelov from the Perm region. Such practices should be replicated and scaled across the country”, — said Brechalov.
According to the Secretary OP the Russian Federation, public men expect in the final forum on November 3-4, will bring together more than 3.5 thousand people from across the country.
“Among the registered participants – people from all Federal districts. We will summarize a series of district forums “the Community”. During the year, discussion platforms were discussed the problems of the nonprofit sector in a variety of areas, from difficulties in registering NGOs to space constraints under the resource centers in some regions,” he said, noting that the forum, like last year, timed to the Day of national unity.
Brechalov told that on the first day of the forum, on Thursday, the event will run several discussion platforms, will feature workshops and motivational lectures. The forum participants will discuss the issues of public control, funding of social projects through grants, subsidies and regional programmes to support NGOs and many more.
“Also at the Public chamber of the Russian Federation held a separate conference on the topic of the PMC. On the second day of the Public chamber of the Russian Federation traditionally will present the award in the field of civic engagement “I am a citizen!”. Each of the winners in 15 categories will receive a prize of 200 thousand rubles,” — he added.
In the framework of the forum “Community” will also be awarded the annual award of “I am a citizen!”. The goal of this award in the field of civic engagement — identify and support successful civil practices.
The prize is awarded for the third time. In 2016 it will receive 15 active citizens who have reached high results in charity projects, social entrepreneurship, environment, local government, science and education, social control and human rights, socialization, youth work, the implementation of urban projects, promoting healthy lifestyle, as well as the initiators of projects aimed at the development of culture and international relations.
This year we also established a special award in the field of business “Socially responsible business”, which presented the organization to realize the projects of social orientation.
The forum will be summed up another award, namely the action “Marathon of good deeds”, said RIA Novosti in the press service of the OP of the Russian Federation.
