Milon proposed to ban MPs speak for half a day

Vitaly Milonov

State Duma Deputy Vitaly Milonov has accused colleagues in the lower house of Parliament in wasteful use of time, the TV channel “360” on Thursday, November 3.

According to Milonov, at the plenary session of the state Duma “a full house”, not only one. “But some members use this, they are like the Dementors, for each question perform. First ask the question, then the speech is written, the content is zero, but we need to Express our position,” he said.

The MP added that he wants to propose changes to the regulations, “so we have this process of these political statements, so to speak, self-promotion, took less time than now.”

For example, when discussing the draft Federal budget a lot of questions were put to a separate vote, and none of the proposals not related to the increasing revenues of the Treasury. All interventions, according to the MP, raised the issue of spending, “but from the point of view of a little populist”. “They (the deputies — ed. “Of the tape.ru”) know that these proposals will not pass because they are just fantastic, but no, you still need to speak half a day,” concluded Milon.

The day before, on 2 November, the Deputy Mikhail Degtyarev said that the record turnout of deputies led to the overloading of elevators. In the result, some parliamentarians and invited to the meeting, the officials had to use the stairs.

6 Oct Vitaly Milonov has suggested people’s choices to dress in frock coats and tunics to stand out from the crowd. Milonov’s colleagues criticized the initiative. Deputy Chairman of the state Duma Committee on constitutional legislation and state construction Dmitry Vyatkin noted that this is not the most important issue that needs to be discussed with the parliamentarians.
