The first Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on information policy, Samail sarailiev proposed to equate the media industry to the Ministry of defence. It is reported by RIA “Novosti”.
“The media industry and journalists equate, in my opinion, to the Ministry of defence, these people, often early fight, who are constantly on the front lines, which convey information on which it is impossible to push, even taking into account the difficult economic situation,” said sarailiev, speaking at a meeting of the Committee.
In addition, he believes that it is impossible to reduce funding for the media, especially given the difficult situation in the world.
