“AUM Shinrikyo” made in the Federal list of terrorist organizations
Moscow. 2 Nov. INTERFAX.RU — the Federal security service of Russia made on the basis of the decision of the Supreme court of the International religious Association AUM Shinrikyo in the register of terrorist organisations.
According to information posted Wednesday on the website of the FSB of Russia, “AUM Shinrikyo” made in the Unified Federal list of organizations recognized in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation terrorist, in accordance with the decision of the Supreme court of the Russian Federation of 20 September of the current year.
This decision entered into force 25 November, is noted in the registry.
September 20 the judicial Board of the Supreme court of the RF satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation on the recognition of AUM Shinrikyo as a terrorist organization and banning its activities on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The case was heard behind closed doors.
“AUM Shinrikyo” — a syncretic religious extremist sect founded by Shoko Asahara.
World famous “AUM” received after the terrorist act in the Tokyo metro on 20 March 1995. In five coordinated attacks, the cultists sprayed poison gas sarin in the Tokyo underground. The earthquake killed 13 people, injured about 6 thousand
13 members of the sect, including Asahara, was later sentenced to death. All charges in this case were charged with 188 representatives of the “AUM Shinrikyo”.
