The Navy of Russia strengthened the combat power of the Black sea, the latest diesel-electric submarines of project 636.3 “warszawianka”. Four submarines have already been serving in black sea fleet, two more are preparing to transfer to the Navy in November 2016 and are being tested in the Gulf of Finland and in the Baltic.
These submarines are among the quietest in its class, and to find the “Warszawianka” in the deep sea is very difficult. For this military NATO unofficially called submarine project 636.6 a “black hole” in the ocean.

Why are they so called
The name “Varshavyanka” comes from the 1970-ies, when the boats of the project 877ЭКМ (export version of submarines of project 877 “Halibut”) was intended in large batches to be exported to Warsaw Pact countries. These submarines are still successfully used in India, China, Vietnam, Algeria, and other countries.
