In Crimea stopped the activities of an extremist organization “Tablighi Jamaat”
Moscow. 2 Oct. INTERFAX.RU — Activities of members of the international extremist religious organization “Tablighi Jamaat” (movement forbidden in Russia) stopped in the Crimea, reported on Monday a press-service of management of FSB of the Russian Federation on Republic.
“The investigative Department of the FSB in respect of its organizers and members of criminal case under parts 1 and 2 of article 282.2 of the criminal code (organization of activity of extremist organization),” — said in a press release.
The information States that the operation is conducted jointly with the interior Ministry in the Crimea. Other details of the FSB are not reported.
Religious movement “Tablighi Jamaat” was organized in 1926 in India by Maulana Muhammad Ilyas. Opponents see it as a closed international organization coordinating radical Sunni extremists. In Russia believe that the activities of the structural divisions of the organization “threatens interethnic and interfaith stability in the Russian society, territorial integrity of the Russian Federation”.
