In Zabaykalsky Krai in the village of Aginskoye, opened the first in Russia monument to the people’s artist of the USSR Iosif Kobzon, reported on the site of administration of AGINSKY Buryat district.
“In the Alley of Heroes in the heart of the village has busts of the Hero of Russia to the shepherd the Woman-Dorzho Mikhailov, Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation, the livestock, the Dalai Hugaeva and the Deputy of the state Duma, people’s artist of USSR Joseph Kobzon. Their discovery took place in the framework of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Agin Buryat Autonomous Okrug”, — stated in the message.
Earlier it was reported that the manufacture and installation of the busts, the territorial government has allocated 3.3 million rubles.
According to a member of the Federation Council of Bair Zhamsuev, Agin-Buryat district is proud of the fact that only since the early 1990-ies, several of the natives received the title of Heroes of Russia and Heroes of Labor. He also noted the special role the singer played in the development of the region.
From 1997 to 2007, Kobzon was represented in the state Duma Agin-Buryat Autonomous Okrug, from 2007 is a member of the lower house of the Federal Assembly of Transbaikalia. In 2010 he was awarded the title of honorary citizen of the region.
In 2003, the monument to Joseph Kobzon was installed in Donetsk, its opening was timed to the city Day and the 66th anniversary of people’s artist of USSR, born in the Donetsk region.
