Social network Facebook will stop working in Russia in 2018, if you do not fulfill the requirements of the law “On personal data”. This was told “Interfax” the head of Roskomnadzor Alexander Zharov.
“…Or we will ensure that the law was fulfilled, or the company will cease to operate on the territory of the Russian Federation”, — said Zharov.
He also said that the company set deadlines for compliance and they will be met. “In 2018 everything will be fine”, — he explained.
The Minister reminded about the termination of work in Russia the social network LinkedIn said that “there are no exceptions,” because, in his words, “it (Facebook. — approx. ed.) is not a unique service, there are other social networks”.
Amendments to the Federal law “On personal data” came into force in 2015. They imply including the storage of personal data of Russian citizens in databases located on the territory of the country.
