Ukrainian users of social networks protested the fact that the President of Petro Poroshenko on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly have shown with a translation into Russian language.
“We should be in the office of the President to convey that it is being translated into the language of the invaders,” writes one user.
“Why didn’t you include the original? We necessarily like the Russian translation, or we trust him more than the original?” reads the other comments.
“What he says, I do not understand Russian. It is generally the President of Ukraine?” — resents another user.
“This Russian voice — another mockery of Ukraine” — outraged the other commentator.
Other users rushed to reassure citizens and explained that Russian language is one of the official languages of the UN.
“People, calm down, Russian is one of the official languages of the UN, there is no interpreter in Ukrainian,” — wrote one user.
“This is the official translation of the UN. They are not translated into Ukrainian. Listen to the original English, since Russian does not like it!” reads the other comments.
The President of Ukraine spoke at the UN in English. The other official languages, Russian pomimo are Arabic, Chinese and French.
