According to RIA Novosti, at the meeting they discussed the expansion of the zone of conflict resolution in the area of the Euphrates river. “The extension of this zone is part of our negotiations”, — said the representative of the US-led coalition Colonel Ryan Dillon.
He also noted that coalition representatives have regular contact with Russian military at many levels.
Before September 21, the Russian defense Ministry was informed of the U.S. intention to stop attempts of attacks by Russian special forces and Syrian troops, the Syrian opposition militants. This was stated by the official representative of Department Igor Konashenkov.
According to Konashenkov, in the present time together with the Syrian army around Deir-ez-Zor to perform combat missions to destroy the militants of the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG; banned in Russia) Russian soldiers of special operations Forces.
