Command of ATO (anti-terrorist operation in Kiev called the fighting in the Donbass) reported the fall in the Donetsk region of the drone Russian-made “Orlan-10”. This was reported on the page of the Ukrainian headquarters in Facebook.
As reported in the headquarters of the ATO, air defense system did not manage to shoot down the drone as it fell down due to a technical failure of the system. The command said that the fall of the machine, produced in Russia, proves the country’s participation in the war against Ukraine.
The centre also published a photo of the device — in the case of visible inscriptions in Russian language.
The armed conflict in the Donbass began in the spring of 2014 after the attempt of the new Kiev authorities the power to suppress speech in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Kiev regularly accuses Moscow of involvement in the conflict. Moscow denies the accusations, pointing to the lack of evidence, and emphasizes that is not a party to the armed conflict.
“Orlan-10” is a Russian multifunctional unmanned complex. Designed to conduct air optical-electronic reconnaissance, issuing of data to impact targeting (re) resources, as well as conducting electronic intelligence and electronic warfare.
