The life expectancy of Russians broke the historical record

MOSCOW, 11 Sep — RIA Novosti. The life expectancy of Russians first reached 72.5 years, according to the Ministry of healthcare, citing the words of the head of Department Veronika Skvortsova.

“According to Rosstat data for the first seven months of this year, the life expectancy of Russians increased by 0.63 years for the first time in our history, reaching 72.5 years. While men’s life expectancy has increased from 66.5 to 67.5 years. Women’s life expectancy has reached 77.4 years”, — stated in the message.

It is noted that the results are based on the reduction in mortality from the major causes: diseases of the circulatory system, neoplasms, tuberculosis, respiratory diseases and digestive diseases, and external causes of death.

Separately, decrease of mortality of the working age population.

“6 months 2017 in comparison with the same period in 2016, the mortality rate in this age group decreased by 8.5%, including among men 8.6%, women — 8.3%”, — adds a press-service.

According to the report, throughout the current year held a historic low infant mortality rate, which for 7 months had decreased by 11.7%. Thus in 43 subjects of the Russian Federation, this figure corresponds to the best world results. “So, for example, in the Lipetsk region, the infant mortality rate is 2.3 per 1,000 live births in the Ivanovo region is 2.9, the Moscow and Voronezh regions and 3.6 in the Republic of Chuvashia — 3,7”, — said the press service.
