MOSCOW, September 8 — RIA Novosti. The car exploded in the centre of Kiev near Bessarabska square, there are victims.
According to preliminary data of the Ministry of internal Affairs of the country, the cause of the car explosion was a bomb.
The dead driver was a citizen of Georgia Temur Makhauri, “is well known in criminal circles,” said the press Secretary of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine Artem Shevchenko. According to Shevchenko, the victim “had a persistent connection with different kinds of Chechen community”, earlier this year he received a suspended sentence in Ukraine for illegal handling of weapons.
According to the TV channel “112 Ukraine”, Makhauri participated in the fighting in the Donbass.
The car was also a woman and a child, said the adviser to the interior Minister of Ukraine Zoryan Shkiryak. The woman is hospitalized, the child in the explosion were not injured, he said.
“The explosion was very strong, we were in the car a few cars behind an exploding car and felt the shock wave… the injured girl was taken to hospital”, — told the correspondent of TV channel 112.ua appeared on the scene.
