Launch of a ballistic missile and a nuclear test in the DPRK pose a serious threat to peace and security in the entire region, said President of Russia Vladimir Putin during talks with Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe at the Eastern economic forum (WEF) in Vladivostok. “We strongly condemned North Korea’s missile launch medium-range, which is August 28, flew over Japanese territory, as well as new nuclear test, conducted on 3 September,” — said the Russian leader.
Putin again stressed that the settlement of the situation on the Korean Peninsula should occur only through political and diplomatic means: “First, you need to reduce your overall tension, and then to establish a dialogue between all stakeholders”.
Earlier Thursday, the Russian President expressed confidence that the situation with the nuclear test in North Korea will not reach large-scale conflict using weapons of mass destruction.
