Rospotrebnadzor warned the Russians about the outbreak of chikungunya fever in France
TASS, 1 Sep. Rospotrebnadzor warns Russian travelers of the deteriorating epidemiological situation of chikungunya fever in the South of France. On Friday reported on the Agency’s website.
“In August 2017 was confirmed four cases of chikungunya fever as a result of local transmission of chikungunya virus in Le Cannes-de-Maures (Provence, Department of var, district of Draguignan), patients outside the region are not checked out, the infection occurred on the territory of the region”, — said the Agency.
It noted that previously the natural area of distribution of chikungunya was considered the tropics of Africa, India, Southeast Asia, Mexico and Guatemala. “In recent years there are cases of registration of chikungunya fever in several European countries — Italy and France”, says the CPS.
