The candidate from the “Party of Growth” Elena Gnetova and the candidate from the party “Motherland” Nikolay Tarakanov has applied to the CEC of the Republic of Karelia statements about withdrawing their candidatures from the election of the head of the Republic, informed RIA Novosti the representative of the CEC of the region.
Earlier it was reported that on 26 July the Central election Commission of the Republic of Karelia has completed the reception of documents for registration of candidates for the post of head of the region. Documents presented seven nominated candidates: the acting head of Karelia Arthur Parfenchikov (United Russia), Evgeny Ulyanov (KPRF), Nikolai Tarakanov (the party “Rodina”), Irina Petelava (” Fair Russia”), Eugene the besední (LDPR), Elena Gnetova (” Party of Growth”), Olga Illkova (” Patriots of Russia”). Nominated by the political party “People against corruption” candidate Igor Alpeyev not submitted in the prescribed time the documents for registration.
“For the moment, have filed their statements of withdrawal of the candidatures of the two candidates –Gnetova Elena and Nikolay Tarakanov. They use their right granted by law, to apply in a certain period — until September 4, they may submit their application on withdrawal of his candidacy,” — said the Agency interlocutor, noting that as of 11.45 GMT on August 31 to participate in the elections of the head of Karelia — 5 candidates.
In mid-February the President of Russia Vladimir Putin has signed the decree about resignation of the head of Karelia Alexander khudilainen, the previously announced early resignation and appointed head of the Federal bailiff service (FSSP) Parfenchikov acting head of the region. Elections of the head of Karelia will pass in the uniform voting day on 10 September 2017.
