Military foresters intend to make themselves the materials for the needs of defense, supplying to the army not only wood, but also boards, beams and sleepers. On Wednesday, November 2 RIA Novosti said the head of the Department of forestry military Department (“Obronis”) Vladislav Kholodkov.
According to the interlocutor of the Agency, it is impractical, with its wood, buy it in the market, while spending budget and when faced with dishonorable contractors.
“Once the defense Ministry itself was supplying all types of timber products — logs for targets and parapets, different kinds of lumber. Then the system was destroyed, and the military foresters lost the right to engage in such activities,” complained of chills.
At the moment forestry of the Ministry of defense covers 4.7 million hectares. Part of the farm consists of 119 military forestries located in 54 subjects of the Russian Federation, which employs 5,000 people, including more than 500 forest military fire. “Oboronno” fixed protection, protection and reproduction of forests of the military Department, procurement of timber and firewood in the interest of the troops, and also functions for the development and improvement of forest areas.
