The head of the Ministry of energy of Russia Alexander Novak announced Russia’s agreement to join the agreement to stabilize the market, but provided that OPEC countries reach consensus within the organization.
“We agree with the position that OPEC should reach consensus within your organization before an agreement will be able to join the countries outside of OPEC”, — quotes RIA Novosti Minister.
Novak also stressed that Moscow “retains positive mood” about the agreement and continues to participate in consultations with partners.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that talks about OPEC limiting oil production from countries outside the cartel was disrupted. According to the Agency it happened because of the reluctance of Saudi Arabia to participate in the dialogue.
