Moscow. 15 Nov. INTERFAX.RU — the Minister of economic development Alexei Ulyukayev charged with extortion and receiving a bribe of $2 million, the consequence petitioned for the election to the Minister a measure of restraint, have informed “Interfax” TFR spokesman Svetlana Petrenko.

“On Tuesday, investigators of the Main Department for investigation of particularly important cases of the TFR charged to the Minister of economic development Alexei Ulyukayev in the Commission of a crime under part 6 of article 290 of the RF criminal code (receiving a bribe by a person holding a state post of the Russian Federation, with extortion of a bribe in especially large size)”, — said Petrenko.
According to investigators, the speaker asked the representative of “Rosneft” a bribe for the legitimate issuance of a positive conclusion and evaluation in respect of the acquisition by the company of state-owned shares “Bashneft”. “Thus, the defendant made threats using their authority to create further obstacles for the activities of the company”, — said Petrenko.
She pointed out that the Minister was caught red-handed when receiving a bribe in the amount of $2 million thanks to the timely appeal of representatives of “Rosneft” in law enforcement bodies with the statement for illegal actions of the Minister.
Currently, the investigators appealed to court with the petition for election concerning accused a preventive measure, said Petrenko.
Ulyukayev had been detained before on suspicion in receiving a bribe in cash in the amount of $2 million According to investigators, the money, a senior official has received for the Ministry of economic development issued a positive evaluation, which allowed Rosneft to acquire state-owned shares of the company “Bashneft”.
